About this Project
Our roof restoration team was called to Como where a homeowner was looking to improve the look of their weathered roof and protect it from the elements. The roof paint was fading, chalking and had some areas of minor peeling from years of exposure to Perth’s coastal sun, salt and weather.
The Challenge
Roof paint will eventually lose its colour and UV protecting ability, and can also become chalky over time. This not only makes a roof look dull and worn out, but can also lead to further damage from the sun, salt and moisture. Replacing a roof can be a very expensive repair job, so a full clean and re-coating was needed to avoid problems in the future.
Our Solution
Our team began by pressure cleaning the roof to remove any moss, dirt, lichens and all loose, flaking paint. We also carefully prepared all surfaces, removing all loose material, to ensure the best adhesion for the new coating.
We then applied a Dulux Acratex primer to improve the surface bonding. Once dry, we spray applied two coats of Dulux Acratex Roof Membrane in a colour chosen by the homeowner. This high-quality coating offers great UV protection and salt resistance, and is durable and long lasting even in Perth’s tough coastal environment.
The End Result
The roof now has a fresh, vibrant look that really lifts the kerb appeal of the property. The protective coating will also help to extend the life of the roof and reduce future maintenance.
