About this Project
A homeowner in Cannington had a roof that was visibly showing signs of age and wear. The paint had faded, there was surface chalking and some small areas of peeling, all of which was common after years of exposure to the weather conditions that Perth is exposed to, in particular coastal Perth. The objective was to make the roof look new again and protect it from the elements.
The Problem
The roof paint had broken down over the years, compromising its ability to reflect UV rays and provide protection against salt, moisture and other elements. The faded and peeling paint not only affected the appearance of the roof, but also the longevity of the roof itself. To improve the overall kerb appeal of the home and prevent further deterioration of the roof, the roof needed a pressure clean and a fresh coat of paint.
What We Did
Our expert team started by pressure cleaning the roof to remove dirt, moss, lichens, old flaking paint and any other debris that may have built up over the years. We then thoroughly inspected all surfaces and did all required preparation including removal of all loose material to provide a sound surface for adhesion.
The next step was to apply a Dulux Acratex primer to the roof to provide good adhesion of the coating to the roof surface. After the primer had dried, we applied two coats of Dulux Acratex Roof Membrane to the roof, spray applied in the colour of choice by the client. The premium coating provides outstanding protection from UV rays, salt, and offers a durable and long-lasting finish, to stand up to the harsh weather conditions that Perth is notorious for.
The Final Result
The roof was transformed to a fresh, new and vibrant appearance, with greatly improved kerb appeal for the home. The protective coating will also add years to the lifespan of the roof and prevent future breakdown and deterioration. The job was completed in a timely manner with minimal disruption to the home and with a warranty to back up the quality of workmanship.
