Visually inspect your roof to spot any damaged spots, particularly around the chimney stack, gutters, ridge cap and other flashing joints. Look for water stains on walls or ceilings and look low in the attic for moisture, stains, carpenter ant damage, deteriorating roof sheathing, and other indications of a leaky roof.
