Roof bedding refers to the process of laying a bed of mortar on the roof structure in order to secure the roof tiles or slates in place. The bedding mortar acts as a base for the tiles or slates to rest on, providing a level and stable surface for them to be fixed onto.
The whole roof tile bedding process involves first cleaning the roof surface and removing any debris or old mortar. Then, a layer of mortar is applied to the roof surface, and the tiles or slates are laid onto the mortar while it is still wet. The tiles or slates are then pressed firmly into the mortar to ensure a secure bond.
